Let me just say that I have never been more pleased to be able to attend only one Goose show. Going in to Silver Lining directly from Atlas Dogs had me convinced that we were going to get the suite with How It Ends to finish. Nonetheless, I was wrong. Hearing the three new songs with a Whip It Prince in between was glorious. Big Modern! and S/ZALT really hit hard. Give It Time has become an obsession as the lyrics speak directly to me, a person with 10 years in sobriety. I say that as a 36 year old - if you are struggling, you can do it. The Hot Tea Party welcomes you. The covers were great and my mother-in-law loved the Shama Lama clip I recorded. Now, Thatch. That Thatch. Dancing like no one was watching, I knew that they were all watching...and I didn't care. I lost control during Thatch and was drenched afterwards. You couldn't see under my mask, but I promise the was a grin from ear to ear. 726 had elluded me until last night. What a beautiful song. That along with Give It Time gave me so much hope last night. Getting Drippy before the encore break had my wife grooving in her seat. As we walked out during Empress, I was a little sad to have missed the Big Modern! reprise, but not enough for it to have had any affect on the overall night. Wow.

Now, to expand...As the weeks approached, it became more clear that I needed to attend at least one of the nights in DC. The obvious choice would be the tour closer as the boys would leave anything they had on stage for us all to enjoy. The plan was to come solo as a spiritual quest, if you will. The wife was concerned about me driving home to Richmond afterwards as I have been known to get very tired. She decided to join and would plan to hang with her friend while I attended. Leaving RVA, it was decided that her and friend would both join and I was totally cool with it! The three of us had all seen Goose for the first time together anyway at The Chrysalis a few years prior. This was my eighth, wife's sixth, and friend's second. No traffic going into DC. I got in line early so ensure that I would be able to secure an event tee. Surrounded by the same folks I was in Charlottesville two months prior felt like home again. I even saw my Goosemas sticker on someone's bag - my first sighting of a design in the wild. Five months ago, my wife received a double lung transplant so we have been utilizing the ADA accomodations whenever available. These seats were KILLER. Second level, dead center. Plenty of room to boogie, boogie, boogie. I got rid of all my stickers and got some great trades. I had not seen the majority of the setlist live until last night. Last night gave me so much music I have been yearning for. Thank you, fans. Thank you, T who I bought my tickets from. Thank you, people in line. Thank you, wife and friend for joining me last night and letting me be me. I am overflowing today. Tired, but overflowing. Thank you, Goose. See ya next time.
