2022-01-27Pancakes19:52Goose Observatory North Park, The San Diego CAStrong debut with propulsive drums and piano.
2022-02-11Pancakes20:13Goose Old Forester's Paristown Hall Louisville KYUnique version of Pancakes that finds a much more gentle, restrained jam mid-way, before catching an energetic wave with 5 minutes to go in a rousing finish.
2022-03-01Pancakes21:15Goose 9:30 Club Washington DCAs if 3/1's second set wasn't good enough already, the band drops a 20-minute "Pancakes" to close it out. Hard-charging and funky, this doesn't hit much new territory but is just such an excellent groove. Rick closes it out with perfectly placed "I Wish" teases.
2022-12-16Pancakes16:42Goose 1STBANK Center Broomfield COFollowing a similar theme to 3/1/22's rager, Peter really shines on piano in this explosive version. Rick swaggers on some extra sustain at the end.
2023-04-27Pancakes20:03Goose Warfield, The San Francisco CACome for the typical rocking start and final peak, stay for the absolute beautiful melodic bliss around 11:45-14:45.
2023-11-15Pancakes22:51Goose BAaD Glasgow Free-flowing, collective no-one-take-the-lead improv as you can find little moments throughout where any 2 band members riff of each other only to have the others join in. Gradual, patient build leading to explosive peak.
2024-06-30Pancakes15:05Goose Westville Music Bowl New Haven CTEmerging from "Skux Life," the quintet explores some nice reggae-tinged terrain before building a peak back into the ending of "Pancakes." A worthy stack, indeed.
2024-09-06Pancakes18:14Goose Saratoga Performing Arts Center Saratoga Springs NYReminiscent of the Mann "Tumble" in its pulsating major-key groove with Peter on marimba piano - though the emotion isn't nearly as impactful.
2024-09-24Pancakes33:17Goose Cuthbert Amphitheater Eugene ORTypical breakfast for the first 15 or so minutes until the band locks in on a jazz-rock motif similar to "Switchin'." Peter takes an atypically aggressive approach to organ for a sustained peak section that builds momentum to a fever pitch. At Rick's urging, things get heavy through a thrashy peak before things cool off into a final bliss section. Peter makes a valiant attempt at a "Loose Ends" segue but Rick says no and brings us home. Incredible journey.
